This Privacy Policy explains how AI Freedom Institute ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use aifreedom.in (the "Site") and our courses, workshops, and related services. This policy is written to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applies to all visitors and users of the Site, in India and globally.
1. Who We Are (Data Fiduciary)
AI Freedom Institute is the Data Fiduciary under the DPDP Act for personal data processed through this Site.

2. Information We Collect
a. Information you give us directly
- Demo / contact form data: name, phone number, email address, school or company name, message content.
- Course enrollment data: name, phone, email, course interest, payment information (handled by Razorpay — see below).
- WhatsApp / call inquiries: the phone number you contact us from, plus any details you share in conversation.
b. Information collected automatically
- Device & browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, screen size, language preference.
- Usage data: pages visited, time spent, referring URL, clicks, scroll depth.
- Course progress (if you've enrolled): lesson completion status, last lesson watched, video progress — stored in your browser via localStorage.
- Payment entitlement (if you've enrolled): proof-of-payment record stored in your browser via localStorage so we can grant you course access without requiring login.
c. Information from third parties
If you arrive from Google, YouTube, social platforms, or advertising clicks, those platforms may share aggregated referrer data with us.
3. How We Use Your Information
We process personal data for the following specified, lawful purposes (DPDP Act §4):
- To deliver the courses, workshops, and services you request.
- To respond to demo, sales, and support inquiries.
- To process payments via our payment gateway (Razorpay).
- To grant and verify access to paid courses.
- To improve the Site, fix bugs, and analyse traffic patterns.
- To send you transactional emails or WhatsApp messages related to your purchases or inquiries.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
- For displaying advertisements (only on blog pages, only with your explicit cookie consent — see Section 6).
We do not use your personal data for purposes you have not consented to.
4. Sharing With Third Parties (Data Processors)
We share personal data only with vetted third-party service providers ("Data Processors") who help us run the Site and services. These include:
- Razorpay — payment processing. Required card / UPI / banking data is collected directly by Razorpay and is governed by their privacy policy. We never see or store your card numbers.
- Google (Analytics 4 + Tag Manager) — anonymous usage analytics. See Google's privacy policy.
- Google AdSense — displays ads on blog pages only, only after you give explicit cookie consent. See Section 6.
- Vercel — hosting provider. Server logs (IP, request paths) are kept for security and operational purposes.
- Google Workspace — for email correspondence sent to
info@aifreedom.in.
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
5. International Transfers
Some of our service providers (Google, Vercel) operate globally and may store data outside India, in jurisdictions with privacy frameworks that the Government of India considers adequate. We rely on contractual safeguards and the privacy frameworks of these vendors to protect your data during transfer.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and browser storage (localStorage) for the following purposes:
Strictly necessary (always active)
- Course progress & payment entitlement (localStorage) — without this, you cannot access courses you've paid for.
- Razorpay payment session — required for processing payments.
- Cookie consent record — to remember your choice on this banner.
Analytics (always active)
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymous traffic measurement. IPs are anonymised. We do not share GA data with third parties for advertising.
Advertising (opt-in only)
- Google AdSense — only loads on blog pages, only if you click "Accept all" on the cookie banner. AdSense uses cookies to serve relevant ads. How Google uses ad data.
You can change your cookie consent at any time by clicking "Manage cookie preferences" in the footer.
7. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act
If you are an Indian Data Principal, you have the following rights:
- Right to access — request a summary of personal data we hold about you.
- Right to correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Right to grievance redressal — escalate complaints to us first; if unresolved, to the Data Protection Board of India.
- Right to nominate — designate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of incapacity or death.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@aifreedom.in with the subject line "DPDP Request — [your right]". We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
For users under 18, we require verifiable parental or guardian consent before collecting personal data. Schools that book workshops on behalf of students take responsibility for parental notification under their own policies. We do not knowingly profile children for targeted advertising. If you believe a child's data has been collected without consent, contact us immediately.
9. Data Retention
- Demo / inquiry leads: retained for 24 months from last contact, then deleted unless you have purchased a course.
- Course customers: retained for as long as you have access to the course (lifetime), plus 7 years for tax/regulatory records.
- Server logs: 90 days.
- Analytics data: as configured in Google Analytics 4 (default 14 months).
- Cookie consent record: 12 months from your last visit.
10. Security
We use industry-standard security measures: HTTPS encryption everywhere on the Site, security headers (X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options, Referrer-Policy, Permissions-Policy), payment processing via Razorpay's PCI-DSS environment (we never store card data), and limited access controls on operational systems. No system is 100% secure — please contact us immediately if you suspect a breach.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be announced on the Site. Continuing to use the Site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
